A traditional country Inn should serve the perfect pint of real ale..... The New Inn does just that!
Having been given a Real Ale Cask Marque Award for quality and care, you will enjoy and can be assured of some of the best Westcountry Ales around. There are always a variety of at least three ales, with seasonal varieties, from which to choose. You can always phone for details of the cellar ales currently behind the Bar. Stag ale from Exmoor and Dartmoor Ale are very popular or for something a little different try a Doombar or Betty Stogs! They’ll certainly give you something to talk about.
Wines can be like people, young and vibrant or older and smoother… you can try many of the wines at The New Inn by the glass. We have around 16 varieties with a particularly good range of New World Wines. Our wine selection is extremely popular and forever evolving - so there's always something new and you can ask for a taster before you buy. The excellent 'House Wine List’ provides real value, these wines are priced at around £17 and now number around 30 bottles. However, for that really special occasion, order a fine classic French wine from our specialist wine list., there are famous wines such as Pouilly Fume, Puligny Montrachet, a Gevrey Chambertin or Nuits St. George… your palate will discover the depth of character of fine wine!
During the winter, you can enjoy warm mulled red wine by the log fire and in summer savour a glass or two of our special Pimms or a chilled chardonnay beside the stream in the garden. You’ll never want to leave.

For those who enjoy a small dram of whisky, the New Inn has become a discerning collector of some of the finest single malts around. These are mainly from the Highlands and islands and some of the specialities come from the distilleries in Islay, where many of the finest malt whiskies in the world are produced.
